What is AZ_Gixxer1000? Well, it’s a lot of things. A business, a hobby, fulfilling a dream, but mostly its a lot of fun!
Based out of Phoenix, AZ. My wife and I are fulfilling a rather unique lifelong dream of mine. You see, ever since I was a little kid I wanted to have my own M/C salvage yard. I know it might sound strange but there is something about it I always found fascinating. Maybe it’s the idea that these machines have a personality of their own and resurrecting, or at least partially resurrecting them allows them to live on. While not “officially” a salvage yard, this husband and wife team have at any one time an inventory ranging
from 25 to 50 motorcycles (both street and dirt, but specializing mostly in late model sport bikes). Still a home based business there is plenty of experience and knowledge about what we do. I am a Factory certified Suzuki and Yamaha mechanic, and my wife while technically not receiving formal training, after 8 years with me knows more than most guys when it comes to bikes. Since it is just the two of us she has the task of running the administrative part of what we do, as well she helps with the cleaning and packing of the parts. In addition she has been known to get her hands dirty a time or two. :P
Just like you, we ride too! For the street is GSXR’s for both of us. A 600 for her and a 1000 for me. Hints the name “AZ_Gixxer1000”. We also ride the dirt. So on any given day you can find one of if not both of us on a two-wheel machine of some kind.
