A little about me...
Who I am
I am Fred Lesinski, and I specialize in the unusual here on eBay - you won't find a Chevy Cavalier or Ford Taurus (well, maybe a wagon....) Cars, trucks, classics, vans, buses - if it's not likely to be found at your local car lot, we might just have it!
I am especially fond of B body GM station wagons. As long as I can keep finding them, I'll be out here on eBay every week with them. I don't think you'll find anyone as dedicated to bringing these cars to you as I am. And because I'm so familiar with these cars, I offer tech support for any wagon you own as long as you bought just one from me. I can't warranty the cars forever, but I'll do whatever I can to keep as many of these on the road for as long as possible! Finally, note my pictures and descriptions. I take care to photograph trouble areas as well as the nice stuff, and give a full description including known defects.
If you need assistance after purchasing a car on eBay, visit my site for registration and transit permit information, etc., by clicking here. Also, visit www.impalassforum.com for more info about B body wagons.
I'm proud of my feedback!
I've sold over 300 cars on eBay with many repeat customers, and have lots of "honest and accurate description" remarks and "drove XXX miles home" comments. Customers have come from over half the states to buy my cars, and I'm happy to present such unique offerings at such good prices as to draw from such distances. Despite minor problems, the vast majority of eBay buyers are upstanding, reasonable and pleasant people and I love to sell cars this way because of the variety of customers! ,
Full eBay Terms
Note: Bidding on any of my eBay items constitutes your agreement to these terms. Note also that I am not being difficult; these terms also intend to cover many methods that a very small minority of bidders use to take advantage of my ethical business practices. I am flexible; if your situation requires some deviation, let me know and we'll work something out.
Deposit: Deposit listed in auction must be paid via Paypal no later than 24 hours from auction end. If paying deposit by money order, I must RECEIVE it no later than 48 business hours from auction end, meaning that you will probably have to send it by an overnight shipping method.
Balance: Remaining balance and any fees are due no later than five business (seven calendar) days from the end of auction via money order or wire transfer ($25 fee.) While I welcome you to personally inspect the item before full payment, balance is expected as described above. If you do not pay on time, I reserve the right to retain the item and your deposit as liquidated damages, or you may redeem the item with an additional fee equal to the listed deposit at my sole discretion. Note that any form of payment EXCEPT CASH IN PERSON AND POSTAL MONEY ORDERS requires bank clearing time of up to five business days. This means that if you want to pick up your item at the same time you pay, you must pay with cash in person or US postal money orders. Use of Paypal for your balance is NOT permitted except where total purchase price is under $500. Once paid, the vehicle is property of the buyer and buyer assumes all risk of damage beyond seller's control. Vehicles are parked outdoors on a main road in rural upstate NY. I've never had a loss, but you never know when a drunk might veer off the road onto my lot.
MINOR deviations from normal terms are often acceptable with prior approval - if you need some special arrangement, talk to me!
Guarantee: I guarantee that the description of my items are accurate and free of MATERIAL omissions. If a material defect is discovered upon your personal inspection AT MY LOCATION that was not listed in the description, I will refund any amounts you paid and release you from any obligation regarding that item. Note that subjective descriptions, light defects, and normal wear are not covered. Older cars WILL have normal fluid seepage and normal cosmetic wear that, unless severe and undisclosed, are NOT valid reasons to fail to complete a transaction. While I do a good job at full disclosure of significant cosmetic and mechanical issues, PLEASE be a reasonable buyer and know that no matter how nice, you are not buying a new car.
Condition & Inspection: This item is being sold as-is, where is, except as limited by NYS law. While I make every effort to disclose known defects of the vehicle, I cannot mention every minor flaw. Understand that you are bidding on a used vehicle, and that it will have wear in relation to its age, miles, and climate of operation. It may also be sold without minor items like owners’ manuals and cigar lighters. I encourage inspections but you MUST contact me for an appointment.
Hours: All pickups and inspections are by appointment - please call.
Pickup: I will pick you up at the Geneva, NY Greyhound station free of charge with the purchase of any item. I will meet your transport truck at any reasonable time at no charge. All pickups are to be at a mutually convenient time; contact me with your proposed schedule BEFORE making travel arrangements. Transit permits are available from NYS DMV for $10 - contact me for instructions if you need one. Please respect that I am not available on Sundays.
Taxes: Out of state residents will NOT be charged NY sales tax. NYS residents must pay their appropriate sales tax based on county & city of residence.
Notes for NY buyers: NYS residents add $21 for NYS inspection if applicable.
6 month/6000 mile limited WARRANTY is included for cars that meet ALL the following:
1. Under 10 years old by MODEL year
2. Under 100k miles
3. OVER $1500 TOTAL price ($1375 bid price, plus basic $125 mandatory administrative fee = $1500). Please keep this in mind when bidding, because if the ending bid crosses 1375, then the administrative fee for NY buyers is increased to $300 for cars that meet the above criteria. Why so complicated? New York DMV REQUIRES NY dealers to warranty cars sold to NY residents that meet the above criteria. The same car can be sold as-is by a Pennsylvania (or other state) dealer. Because I cannot determine the residency of the winning bidder until the end of the auction, NY buyers are notified BEFORE bidding of this requirement. DO NOT blame me; write your NY legislator and tell him or her that you are smart enough to choose to buy a car with or without a warranty. Also please do not tell me that you do not pay this at another dealer because you most certainly DO when you haggle to buy a car. This cost is considered by all NY dealers; the difference is that I'm telling you the cost of it up front!
Warranties of varying terms are available for most cars at the buyer's option - see www.pennwarranty.com for details. The warranty that I include if the $300 administrative fee is charged is the basic 6 month plan seen on their website.
Transit permits: Transit permits are $10 from the DMV and good for 30 days - see my "About Me" page.
International buyers must add $150 to any transaction to cover recall letters, customs arrangements, FedEx and faxing of documents, and generally increased storage time. Buyers who pay this fee are given 60 days free storage.
CANADIAN buyers & MEXICAN exporters who know how to handle ALL their export papers and procedures, follow my payment and pickup terms, and pay for any additional paperwork shipping costs that are incurred do not have to pay ANY EXTRA FEES. If I have to make your arrangements for you, or it takes you longer, I must charge for this work up to $150 depending on time & expense involved. See http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/VIG_Canada07032.html
The closest border crossing that accepts faxed copies is Lewiston, NY. All other NY border crossings require original title in hand, so Canadians crossing at those points MUST prepay for their cars before I can issue the ownership papers and release them to those borders. I cannot release title to any vehicle when payment has not yet cleared.
Storage: Items not picked up within 30 days will be charged $8 per day storage for the 31st day to the 45th day, then $20 per day thereafter in order to release to customer or shipper unless prior arrangements are approved. On the 91st day, the car will be sold for storage fees. I am somewhat flexible with this if I know ahead of time.
Ending auction early - more than 1 day remaining on auction: I reserve the right to end such auctions to SELL for a GOOD offer at my discretion. I do NOT have an asking price/buy now price on any item listed as No Reserve. On those items, if you want me to end it early, make your ONE best really good offer by PHONE, and I'll send a transaction request through eBay if accepted, or simply bid. Inquiries asking about my buy now price will be ignored. For information on determining a good offer price, view completed eBay auctions for similar vehicles that sold.
Ending auction early with under 24 hours remaining: I will NEVER EVER end a no reserve auction (or a reserve met auction) with less than 24 hours remaining for ANY offer - at that point, the item will sell to the HIGHEST BIDDER ONLY.
If there is a conflict of terms, the more restrictive one shall apply.
ALL SALES FINAL. In the very rare event that the described vehicle cannot be delivered, my sole obligation will be to refund any monies paid to me for that vehicle at my discretion. Should a plane crash into the car you paid a deposit on, I'd probably have a hard time getting you to pay the balance anyway!
