My name is Frans Speur. I buy and sell early 20th century postcards and photographs of town views and street scenes from around the world.
I grew up in a Dutch town called Heiloo and I now live in Edmonton, Canada. I decided to put my collection of early postcards of my old home town and the nearby communities of Bergen, Schoorl en Egmond on a website: see the link below (sorry, those are not for sale).
For me the intriguing thing is to see the town and neighbourhood I grew up in as they looked in the old days, especially if there are still some clues like a house or a building that's still there today, while everything around it may have totally changed. And the people: looking very different and living in a different world that is somehow still familiar.
To protect bidder privacy, when the price or highest bid on an item reaches or exceeds a certain level, User IDs will be displayed as anonymous names. For auction items, a bold price means at least one bid has been received.
