Hello all. It's been a long time since I worked eBay. Not because I didn't want to, but because I have been extremely busy at my regular work, leaving little or no time to sell philatelic material. Although this will probably continue at least up to and beyond Christmas, I hope to be able to present at least some items for sale. The main areas I will cover in the near future is Arctic and Antarctic material, Scouts - mainly Scandinavian letters and cinderellas, mainly Christmas related, in complete sheets. In addition I have lots of postcards and covers to pick from as times goes by. I really hope that all of you will be able to find one or more items of your interest. Happy hunting.

A few words about myself. My real name is Olav Emil Skjervik (so there's the explanation of my trading name). I am a Norwegian, living in the southwestern part of Norway, not far from the town Stavanger. I have been a stamp collector for a long time. I am also a radio amateur (callsign LA2GKA) and happens to be interested in geneaology on top of that.

Shipping and handling.

 The exchange rate between US dollars and Norwegian kroner is extremely low at the moment, with about 5,10 kroner to the dollar.
This may make it necessary for me to up my s&h fees to ensure that they at least cover postage on my shipments. Until further notice I shall charge postage and handling as follows:

- for letters up to 20 gram, US$ 2.50
- for letters between 20 and 50 gram, US$ 4.00
- for letters between 50 and 100 gram, US$ 5.00
- for letters between 100 and 350 gram, US$ 10.00
- heavier letters / packages will be quoted in each case
- registered letters will cost an additional US$ 10.00. I will usually use registered post only when the buyer asks for it.

Please note I will always try to combine shipment if you buy more than 1 item, to reduce postage costs as much as possible.

Payment methods.

 I prefer that my customers use PayPal. If you want to pay in other ways, it's OK, but please ask me first. To pay small amounts in check / money order is inconvenient as it cost around $15 to cash a check in the Norwegian banks. Checks should only be used for amounts from $150 and upwards. Cash is OK for smaller amounts, but don't include coins as they may destroy not only the letter, but post office equipment as well. Use mint US stamps to pay for cent values, I will return mint stamps as small change, normally US stamps, but other may be used depending on where you reside and what I have got in stock.

If you are able to use electronic transfer system (SWIFT, Fedwire and such), it's probably OK, but contact me before you do.
To protect bidder privacy, when the price or highest bid on an item reaches or exceeds a certain level, User IDs will be displayed as anonymous names. For auction items, a bold price means at least one bid has been received.

Note: Anonymous names may appear more than once and may represent different bidders.

Catalogs I use.
When I put Norwegian stamps up for sale I use the NORGESKATALOGEN 2000 (NK 2000). This is the standard catalogue of the postage stamps of Norway. As far as I am able to I will give a cross reference to Scott, although this may not always be possible. When I put up UK stamps I use the 1994 issue of Stanley Gibbons "Great Britain Concise stamp catalogue". For other Scandinavian countries I will either use AFA (Denmark, Faroes, Greenland, DVI, Iceland) or Facit (Sweden), with cross reference to Scott if possible. I have finally got myself a complete range of Scott catalogs (1998), and I will use this if necessary.

My guarantee to buyers.

 Even though I try to give the best possible description of the stamps I'm selling I may overlook faults or in other ways make mistakes like using wrong catalogue number etc. or pointing to a wrong picture. In those cases I will of course make a full refund if so wanted, provided the fault(s) or misrepresentation are not easily detectable on the picture, in the text or in the two combined.
