"PROST" is a toast, in German a shortened version of the word "PROSIT," which in Latin literally means, "May it benefit you!" Germans say "Prost!" or "Prosit!" or "Ein Prosit der Gemlichkeit!" when clinking glasses or steins together in good fellowship.

THE PROST OFFICE (http://theprostoffice.com) came into being in 1992 and initially dealt exclusively in the sale and trading of steins. It a family affair started by Tom Kuelbs and then joined by his sister, Susan Van Huis and later by Sue son, Jim. The kindred spirits, with complementing tastes, quickly established a reputation for an ever-expanding line of fine products gathered in travels around the world truly unique items, well produced or perfectly reproduced and sold at exceptionally low prices. And moreover, the amily does business the "old-fashioned way" with a personal touch, as well as explicit attention to detail, a striving toward complete customer satisfaction, extraordinary packing, continuous communication and the "missing links" in most modern commerce courtesy and appreciation.

In 1997, THE PROST OFFICE expanded to the internet with home bases in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Chicago, Illinois -- and the product line has now grown to include, in addition to Steins, collectible and useful Kitchen Accessories (including a wide assortment of Salt & Pepper Shakers, Cookie Jars and Teapots), gorgeous Lamps (most in the Tiffany-style!), Limoges-inspired Treasure Boxes, Designer Umbrellas, Clocks, Religious items, Irish-themed items, an array of "Black Americana" collectibles, decorative Christmas items, collectible Banks, Dolls, Toys, CapoDiMonte Porcelain, Bronzes, Nautical items, Brass pieces, and much much more.
