Here's my bio...
Utah artist Catherine Darling Hostetter describes her art as whimsical with a touch of reality. “I feel compelled to illustrate a feeling of well being through my paintings. I am passionate about the basics of art, learning all that I can, working to improve my art. Equally strong is my desire to express in my art a feeling that life is pretty good.”
Born October 17th, 1955 in Salt Lake City, Utah, Catherine has honed a natural instinct from childhood to create art. Early recognition of her talent came in her senior year of high school. She was selected as one of ten finalists for the Deseret News Sterling Scholars in Art. Catherine attended the University of Utah studying art until her path took her towards marriage and motherhood.
Although art laced her family life, it was not until 1996 that she made a serious return to painting. She is currently represented by Palmers Gallery, and Local Colors of Utah both located in Salt Lake City. Her art has been featured in ‘Smart Money, the Wall Street Journal magazine as well as in local publications.
Catherine is currently serving as the President of the Utah Watercolor Society for 2008-2009. She is a member of Merit in the Intermountain Society of Artists. Her most recent awards include:
