I attended Iowa State University and was enrolled in the Graphic Design program. This was my major for three years before I switched to a different major. Although I believe my college classes are invaluable, I would still consider myself self-taught. I have been working at being an artist for close to 15 years now. I have experimented with different mediums, subject matters and being that I am self-published have made the efforts to learn about marketing and the business end of being an artist.

I am a versatile, prolific Iowa born and raised artist. I work with the mediums of alkyds, (a fast drying oil), acrylics, watercolor and a mixed media of watercolor and colored pencil. My subject matter ranges from snowmen to horses and cattle to fruit and flowers. All of my art is inspired by the connection I have to Iowa and the serene beauty that I see around me.

I offer a wide range of artwork but focus on three areas. 1. My first love is painting with acrylics and alkyds on canvas. 2. I have self-published prints which I call my "Heartland Series". These prints feature images of rural scenes with an emphasis on cattle, in particular Angus cattle. 3. I also sell my own creation of original personalized watercolor snowman families. In 2000 I had the honor of designing Governor Vilsack’s official Christmas card, which featured my snowmen.
