Weiss Auctions was one of the world's largest public auction firms completely operated by only two people; Bill and Addie Weiss. We began in the stamp business in 1972 and conducted our business under Bill's name "William R. Weiss, Jr.". In our early years we were primarily bourse dealers and attended major shows on the east coast of the United States. This business eventually developed into specializing in only United States Postal History covers, and that business inventory was sold in 1990.
Beginning in 1975, we began conducting "Net Price Sales" wherein material was offered at set prices to the first person who placed an order. This business continued until about 1989.
In 1983 we conducted our first public auction, and by 2007, between Net Sales and Public Auctions, we conducted our 157th sale. After Sale 157 we decided to retire from the Public Auction Business. We now are in the business of brokering material between sellers and buyers for a small commission fee. Contact us for additional information about this broker service. Our other business (see below) is the Expertization of United States Stamps and covers,
etc.
