Hello! My name is Phil and I can usually be found in the balcony of the Stamp Chat Board. It's a great place to learn -- someone usually has an answer. I collect stamps of the United States, mostly used. I find the Washington-Franklin series both fascinating and frustrating!
Back in the mid-1950s I went on active duty with the Navy, serving aboard the USS Lexington (CVA-16). After that I joined the Seattle Police Department and was an officer for 29 years. Following retirement I taught criminal justice classes at a local community college. These days I concentrate on being a grandpa to five! Currently working with a teenage grandson who, along with band and soccer, is showing an interest in stamps!
