Shine Bright...Shine Far...Be A Rising Star!

For the last 20 years American Kids Inc. has provided an environment for young kids (ages 3 through High School Seniors) to become an entertainer. In this process lifelong friendships are formed. We achieve this by having annual talent competitions and offering great prizes.

Each year we present over 1,500 shows which feature our kids. Through performance workshops we train our members to develop the skills and confidence to be on stage.

Families bond through their positive experiences as well as their unifying challenges in American Kids. In the past we have given many college and performance scholarships to selected members.

We can change the world through entertainment. We seek to maximize and encourage the highest potential of every child. We celebrate positive drug-free lifestyles. We nurture fairness and respect for all. We share our talent gifts for the benefit of others.

We create a safe haven in which young people develop self confidence through presenting themselves in a public setting. We teach respect for the rights of others and foster mutual support.

American Kids Inc. was created in 1982 by Dr. Dale Smith as an official project of the state of Oklahoma 75th anniversary celebration. Dr. Dale created American Kids to create opportunities for kids who liked to perform, using the performing arts as a vehicle to build character, and self confidence. He founded the organization to provide opportunities for young performers to appear on a variety of stages in wholesome environments.

With a Doctorate in Education and 19 years as a public Educator, Dr. Dale has been an entertainer since he was five when he won the $5. (this was a lot of money in 1935) first prize given by Gene Autry at the old Mystic Theater in Picher, Oklahoma. His lifelong dedication to education, entertainment and young people has sustained the organization to this day.
