Margaret Aycock is an Impressionist oil painter known for her delicate pastel floral still lifes and exciting, bright groupings of bathing suited beach figures, portraits, and Oklahoma landscapes.   Margaret has painted for over 25 years and has studied under such fine artists as John Szekes,  Virginia Jarboe, Hugh Wakinshaw, Xiang Zhang, and Jonnie Lihlidahl.   She teaches adult painting workshops and sells 2 of her painting videos in her ebay store.  Recently she was chosen to represent her state in Paint America's Paint the Parks competition.

 Margaret is a member of a portrait group and paints religiously, once a week with a live to keep in good form.  Most of her landscapes are done on site, in and around Oklahoma and include Tulsa historic homes and Osage farmland.  Her still life paintings are charming arrangements of objects that remind her of spending quiet afternoons reading, gardening or having tea with friends.

  Her beach paintings are full of color and light and carry with them the same excitement she experienced during her youth which was spent working, living and painting on the beaches of North Carolina. 

 Margaret has participated in many juried shows and in 1997 won second place in a show juried by the editor in chief of American Artist Magazine.  She won best painting in the Oklahoma Women in the Arts Show in 1995.  Her work has been featured every year since 1995 in Tulsa International Mayfest Invitational Gallery.  Her painting, utcracker was chosen for The National Wachovia Bank holiday card in 1999. Carpentree Company  purchased publishing rights to two of her pieces in 2004 for mass production for their client, Mardel Christian and Educational Supply.   Her work is currently represented by West End Gallery in Winston Salem, NC and Ziegler and  Doran Galleries in Tulsa, OK. Margaret makes a habit of donating a portion of the sale of many of her pieces to charity and is excited to be included this year in the Richard Schmid Art Auction. 

 Margaret currently teaches oil painting lessons at Zieglers Art and Frame Store in Tulsa and at TCC Tulsa.  She also works with the Tulsa Arts and Humanities Council Artist in the Schools program and has an artist residency at Hillcrest Hospital where she works with patients who are in rehab from major surgery. Hi everyone,

This is Margaret here.  I am excited because I have some wonderful new artists who have joined my Gallery/Store.

CA Segall and I have known each other for years and were both gallery artists in a gallery that I was part owner of years ago.  I have always admired her style. She has added her work to private collections all across the United States.  I am happy that with all the opportunities that are open to her, she has chosen to show her work with me here in the Gallery/Store.

Alice Hurlburt is a fine wildlife painter who I met several years ago in a portrait painting group here in Tulsa.  I greatly respect her work and hope that you do too.

Anne McCoy is a long time friend and former student.  Anne's push is towards creating religious art as her faith is very important to her.  She was always a joy to have in class and I think her work reflects that as well.

Jessica Newman is also a former student and I would like to say that I could take credit for her amazing drawing ability but alas....I can't.  She amazed us all the first few days of class with her drawing ability as she drew while during painting breaks.  I loved her work so much that I have purchased two of them myself.  Jessica is a very young artist who I am sure will go very far. 

Jo Ann Young is my amazing mother in law who just picked up a brush a few years ago and is now living her dream.  She has the good fortune to live in a beautiful place and paints a lot of her surroundings.  Her work can also be seen in galleries in and around Heber Springs Arkansas.
