I
want to paint those things which cause a sudden and constant lump in
my throat, a thought that won’t go away or an image in my mind’s eye
that swirls around until, at last, it can come to life on the easel.
I do my own photography to use as reference for my paintings and I
know when I get the right shot, it’s the one that causes me to stop
and put my fingers to my neck to check my pulse.
