Full Mint Sheets and foreign stamps
Stamp collecting is the world's most popular hobby, and many stamp
collectors enjoy collecting either by country/area or topic. Stamp
collecting began when the first stamp was issued on May 6, 1840. Within
months, ads appeared in the British newspapers from people looking for
postage stamps for their collection, including one from a lady who
intended to wallpaper a room with the penny black stamp. For 150 years,
people have been searching for that room! Commercial stamp albums were
available before the civil war, and the hobby continues to be popular
today.
If you're not a stamp collector, consider them for gifts or framed
displays! Do you have a friend who gets up at dawn to sit in a
duck blind? Is a coworker moving to another state? Was your father in
the Marine Corps, Army, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, or Navy? Need an
honorarium gift for a speaker? Do you have a friend who collects
nautical memorabilia? Thousands of different "themes" have been used as
subjects for stamp sets over the years: just purchase a item,
pick up an inexpensive frame and acid-free mat at any store, put them
all together, and you have created a perfect gift!
