About me:
I have been gardening for 20 plus years. I love wildlife. I love to learn. I love gardening. I love to share my passion for gardening and wildlife with others. I have a NWF Certified Wildlife Habitat in my yard. I love to watch birds (and any other animal or insect for that matter). I volunteer my time in citizen science, reporting information about wildlife for scientific studies. Did I mention I love wildlife? ;-)
In the Spring of 2009, I became a Master Gardner! I have been wanting to do this for several years, and it just happen to work out (finally!!!). I was trained by Kansas State University professors and extension agents. To all who are even remotely thinking about this, it is such a wonderful training...I highly suggest it. I also love to watch weather, and since we are in the center of "tornado alley" I became a trained weather spotter. I thought it was such a great match, since gardening and weather go hand in hand.
I live in Zone 6a, smack dab in the middle of the United States. I have made my yard into a habitat for any little critters that will come to visit. My backyard is my oasis...my relaxing get away from the craziness of the world. And, YES, I even talk to the little animals as I am outside working. They know when I come out, and normally it is to fill their feeders...so I let them know when I am done, so they can safely come in for a snack.
