My interest in dolls was reawakened when Mary Hoyer showed up. I found her in a plastic bag in my house. I've had things in boxes for a long time and forgotten she was there. Then for almost a year, I misplaced her.
Poor Mary
When I rediscovered her, she was in bad shape. Her face was partially sanded, her toes were broken off, her wig was pretty useless, but I felt she should be restored to her former glory.
On the Doll Discussion Board, I kept seeing restorations by Nativelady and I was very impressed. I took a chance, asked her about Mary, and she restored her beautifully.
I seldom sell dolls, but my house is full of 50 years of garage sales and flea market finds, so I sell lots of other junque. I find things all the time that I have forgotten where they came from and why I bought them. Sometimes I make doll quilts using vintage material, hand sewn, mostly applique. These are the things I try to sell.
