My philatelic interests are global stamps. I collect all countries to some degree, and up to some time cut-off, such as 1970 for many - but I'm enough of a Globalist to learn history, geography, cultures, etc., on each and every stamp-issuing entity. Occasional infringements past the 1970 dateline are made for continuity of issues and certain collecting interests. I have more specialized collections from a number of countries - US, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Bahamas, Austria, Hungary, Iran, Sudan, China, to name a few.
The ultimate goal is to learn a little something about each and every stamp-issuing entity on the globe since about 1840, as well as more detailed knowledge wherever time permits, and desire to learn leads me.
I also do work designing & developing client/server database applications using Microsoft Visual Studio, particularly Visual FoxPro, VBA, .NET, and I do computer and network hardware and software support. I'm a Statistician by profession (at least this is where my primary university degrees were earned).
For those of us who appreciate completeness, I now have complete stamp collections from 14 countries: Aden, Allenstein, Ascension, Baden, Barbuda, Hatay, Inini, Ionian Islands, Karelia, Kionga, Mayotte, Prussia, Saseno, and White Russia. All right, so I picked on some easy ones :-) Closing in on some others, check back for updates.
