Whether I'm reading a good book, watching the boob-tube, laughing at a joke, playing an addicting Facebook game, marveling at the beauty of nature, peering into the dark, imagining the worst, eating a cheeseburger, listening to music, wishing I had a donut or just being philosophical... ideas are always popping into my head.
They may be written on post-its or quickly sketched... but mostly they're filed loosely in old metaphorical boxes and placed in the musty, dusty corner attic of my mind (where I keep my artsy-to-do-list). Then... every once in a while, I pluck up an odd idea, dust off the cobwebs and do my best to bring it to life.
Though I've taken college courses in painting, drawing, sculpture and pottery... I've found that art is like life (it's mostly self-taught, with each day bringing a new lesson). When I'm creating works for sale, I only use professional grade artists' materials and I pay close attention to detail. Each piece will be archive-quality and may have taken several hours, or several days to complete.
When I'm not working in traditional mediums... I enjoy creating digital art, graphics and web designs. I designed this About Me page, as well as pages for these talented eBay artists: robertsloan2art, jazmin112-2008, lazyhawk, mazoommzee and wild_watercolors.
When I first saw "ACEO Art Cards" on eBay... I fell in love with the concept! Being a busy mom, I haven't always found time for my artwork. ACEOs have been a wonderful creative outlet for me... as they are for many artists (especially those who only have time or space, to create and ship small pieces).
I've become dedicated to increasing public awareness of the ACEO movement (both on and off eBay). With this in mind I co-founded the eBay Group 2008 Year's Best ACEO Awards ~ ACEO YBA and designed ACEOaddix, an online community for ACEO artists, collectors and enthusiasts. At ACEOaddix, we offer a FREE Member Gallery, Forum, Plugboard and more! We're also proud to display over 900 original ACEOs, from the 2008 ACEO YBA!
