Although it states I have been a member since April 2004, I didn't think about starting an eBay business until early last year. I think it was around March 2006. I had been out of work for quite some time. I had tried all kinds of ways to make money - you've seen the TV ads...right? Also, my better half, Michael, was having health problems and I wanted to stay at home with him as much as possible, so I decided to take a course with Robert Allen.
I got some really good advice from the Robert Allen program (have you heard of him?). Anyway, my coach was the nicest person I could have worked with. He helped me build a website and told me to start selling stuff on eBay to get familiar with dealing with customers, and I've enjoyed doing it ever since. I think communication and good customer service is the most important thing in keeping your customers happy.... anyway, as I was saying....
I first started selling items I found around the house that just cluttered up the place. I had been watching those auction programs on TV about how much things were worth and thought maybe I could get some extra cash for my items. It wasn't as lucrative as I would have hoped, but still, the items weren't doing much good hiding in drawers, so at least I was getting the place tidier. Well, I didn't have much cash, so after trying to sell all of my stuff and Michael's too, I looked at different wholesalers to see what I could get for a reasonable price. I had lived in Spain for a year and while I was there I started collecting Pencil Sharpeners, the same ones I now sell in my eBay store. They are so much fun, plus you never have a dull pencil :-) They started selling really well, but I needed something else that people were interest in, so I kept looking. Now I've got so many different collectibles to choose from. I just love all the Enesco Kitchen Fairies (I'd have a house full if I could) and the Sherratt & Simpson figurines, sea shells, a little jewelry, Jim Shore's Heartland and Walt Disney figurines, and anything else I can find that other people might be interested in. So if you have any ideas on what you might like to see in my store please don't hesitate to let me know.....O.K.?
I could keep going on "about me" but I don't want to bore you to tears....so I'll stop here. Just leave knowing that you are very important to me and I will do everything I can to keep you happy and satisfied with your purchases. Thanks for visiting!
