COME ON IN!!!!!!!!
Welcome to my world. I am Dottie Cooper Katz, born in Maine a few (?) years back, am a self taught artist, and I love what I do. Some people tell me I dance to my own drummer....dance?? dance!!! I LOVE to dance. Some of my paintings have dancers on them. I thoroughly enjoy what I do.......... I am so blessed to be able to share my joy with others... that, to me , is success. I started out painting seascapes, then Florida wildlife, progressed to abstracts and love to work in acrylics or watercolor. I especially like collages. I like to keep them simple and fresh. I like using my reference photos in collages. I have taken some pretty cool photos through the years and it is a great way to show off my camera talent.I have just been accepted in the 2003-2004 National Register's WHO'S WHO in Professionals for being in my art business for 30 years. Show's that I am persistent!!

Other projects
I have also painted murals, faux finishing, trompe l'oeil, and small magnets. I found that I really enjoy 360 degree surfaces. McLeans home (Back Street Boys), his mom Denise's home and several others.My Mom moved in with me a few years ago and I keep her active with her walker because she truely believes if she doesn't keep moving I will paint HER!!!!!! UPDATE: Mom has passed and I dedicate this page to her. She enjoyed watching me paint.
On the most serious side,I am also in the process of writing a book that will hopefully help teens that are 'lost' in this world. It is a about my son, whom I lost through suicide. A tradgedy I hope you never have to feel. I need encouragement and the courage to finish. It is about halfway done.
I truely appreciate all my patrons who take the time to look and like my work enough to buy it. It gives me joy to find homes for these extensions of me. I THANK YOU. Please feel free to write any comments you have any time. I love to hear from my fans... you are what keeps me going.
Oh, yes, one more bit if news. I am now a GREAT-Grandmother. A bouncing (he loves to jump) baby boy! His name is TYLER. And last, but not least, I am a newlywed. And life goes on.....
