| I began eBay in February of 1999. I initially bid on only sci-fi books, but have branched out considerably since. Shortly after joining, I listed my first item for sale. How scary and fun is that? I now sell on 5 different venues. My, my, my! Everything has changed.

I received the name desertprincess not long after going on-line. I live in the middle of the desert which explains the name, but a good book friend also said "Yeah a sci-fi handle...and it fits you perfectly! You are obviously a sci-fi enthusiast, but the universe, being the stage for many sci-fi story lines, is predominantly an immense void, hence the universal desert. There you have it...DesertPrincess!!!" So I guess the name is applicable in more ways than one.
A fellow bookie was asking "What movie drug you in ... you were there, you could feel what they felt ... I know, they are not books, so don't have the same hold." Well, I actually think movies can have even more hold on a person than a book (at times). That movie for me would be "Star Wars". I still remember sitting in a movie theater in Germany watching it in German when I was 12 years old. It didn't matter that I couldn't understand a darn word they were saying, I was pulled in by the special effects. Then, I watched it a few months later in English - WOAH! And I wonder why I love sci-fi. There is no other genre of movie that can captivate me like Science Fiction. None, nada, zip! So thanks George Lucas for hooking me up with my passion. |
My first positive feedback was from Cy Korte (we were both so excited)! You only get your first positive feedback once. Don't forget to give feedback to those who deserve it.
I have so much fun with eBay as a buyer and a seller. Where else can you buy and sell at 2am (and in your jammies too)?
