BUYING AND SELLING
At DisKounters, we buy and sell computers and video games.From time to time, we will bid on items for personal use.
So far, we have had only a few bad deals from ebay/half.com sellers.
Please view our feedback file. We are pretty happy with the fact most everyone we have dealt with has been satisfied.
If you have any questions about feedback, gladly email us, we have proof of delivery for all packages we ship.
Some buyers leave feedback before checking the facts.
Our personal goal - to make sure we satisfy all of our customers with each transaction. Every customer is an individual, and should be treated as such.
AUTHORIZED RESELLER? WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
Some people ask "what is an authorized reseller", or "authorized dealer"? From some of our first listing on Half.com and eBay, we have stated we were authorized resellers of the many of the products we sell. Over the years, others claim they are authorized also.An authorized reseller/dealer is a business, not an individual. There are several different kinds of authorized dealers/resellers. Authorized resellers must purchase from approved distributors, and to follow guidelines of the manufactuerer (if any). To purchase from an authorized distributor, you must have your own business, and submit the proper paperwork.
Another kind of authorized dealer/reseller registers their business with the manufactuerer, and the manufacturer says they are authorized to sell their products. In some cases, this can mean faster RMA's for defective items, or longer warranties on products purchased.
For instance, sellers of Microsoft Windows or Office products agree to purchase from one of the seven authorized distributors. People who "sell Windows XP Dell Edition" on eBay are not Microsoft Authorized, and are violating the OEM software agreement between Dell and Microsoft (hence, you will receive no warranty or support from Microsoft).
Also, when sellers cut the UPC off for a rebate, that item is technically considered USED. The manufacturer honors the warranty to the original purchaser, with the date purchased on the receipt, NOT the date the now USED item has been resold.
For video games, it's very difficult to know who is authorized. There are several video game distributors, and several bootleggers/importers. A business that is honest will only purchase from the authorized distributors direct with the major manufacturers. Some sellers purchase "retail returns" from the big box stores. While these are decent items and in some cases in good condition, many are marked "salvage" and do not come with any manufactuerer warranty.
We strongly suggest you read a sellers feedback, positive and negative, for the comments buyers are saying. A buyer can be your best source of information about the seller, and the kind of merchandise they sell.
We offer a 90-day warranty on our used games, and can gladly offer the full manufacturer's warranty on new games, because we purchase from legit distributors and wholesalers. Our used games are purchased from our own customers, tested and cleaned before being offered. If a cd-based item is scratched, we will gladly resurface the item at no charge and retest (other than Dreamcast and Playstation 3).
