Special Needs Dobermans (SND) is an organization of caring people with a common goal of helping senior and special needs Dobermans. That need may be financial or it may be only information and/or moral support for the owner of a Doberman with a serious illness or injury. We will also aid in re-homing and fostering senior Dobermans. These Dobermans may be rescued Dobes or they may already be in loving homes. A Dobe in need is a Dobe in need. Financial aid may be through donations, our new SND Online Store or through avenues such as these online auctions. You can find us at www.doberman911.org! We also run The Senior Doberman Project, an effort dedicated to helping our senior friends when they are in need. This project is run in conjunction with DPCA/COPE and The Doberman Digest. How SND helps Dobes in need

The concept is simple, but the results are inspiring. We find out about Dobermans that have special needs. Once we speak with the owner or rescue organization and the vet, we help as much as we can based on the level of need that exists. When financial help is needed, we vote to contribute money from our General Fund. This is a pool of money that people have contributed to for us to use as 'seed funding' for new cases. If additional money is needed, we work to get direct donations and arrange fund raising auctions on eBay. Donations come from SND members and other concerned people too, and they can include money or the items that we auction. We also have a General fund for our Senior Doberman Project - this fund is used specifically to help seniors in need.

One of the more important aspects of SND is providing a means for people to help themselves. Owners and rescue organizations can help raise money for their Dobe by telling their friends to come to our website to make tax deductible donations (SND is an approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization). They can also help by sending us Dobe related items that we then auction off here on eBay. We spread the word about their Dobe on our Yahoo email list as well other Doberman lists. Using this combined effort, we help the owner or rescue organization raise the money needed to save their kid.
