Hi there, my
name is Adrienne Williamson and I am an artist, wife and mother of
three extraordinary boys.
I started Dreamin’ Bohemian as a
way to showcase all of my work as an artist. While my artist style
isn’t always that trendy “bohemian” style we think of, it does
encompass many different mediums and techniques.
I got the
name from my Bohemian Grandma and from my trait of dreaming
constantly and never believe that I CAN NOT do
something.
When I was 10 years old, I sold my first hand sewn
doll with a painted face. My Grandma took it to her Bingo Hall and
sold ten more of them for 20.00 a doll. 200.00 to a 10 year old is
quite a bit of money….let’s just say I have been “hooked” ever
since!
Both of my parents were raised on the South side of
Chicago and we moved to Texas when I was 10.
I began working
for a rug weaver shortly after I got married. And when she moved her
studio to Boulder Co, I worked for a well known tapestry weaver from
Fort Worth. By this time I was enamoured by fabric construction.
I loved how you could take different colors of yarn and thread and
weave them together to get different effects. Well, since that wasn’t enough, I had to learn how
to construct my own yarns, and I began spinning yarns of all kinds,
from wool to silk to angora and cotton. By the time I was 25, I had
a small farm of which I raised Angora rabbits, Angora Goats, Sheep
and Chickens. I owned and ran a small antique store
where I had my textiles studio and I began to dabble in painted
furniture and murals, including faux finishing on both walls and
furniture. I sold my work all over Fort Worth, in galleries and at
horse shows.
When I turned 30 I started painting on clothing, glass, furniture,
toys, just about anything you could imagine, most with a
“whimsically western” feel. Soon after, I found ebay.
I have
been selling on ebay since 1999. I sold off some of the antiques I
had previously owned in my store, and then started selling my
artwork. I found the boutique world on ebay to be really fun. I got
to put my two loves of fabric and painting all together and even
keep dabbling with my yarns and beads and other things I had
collected over the years.
I am now happily married and my
children, Zachary and Tucker and I started life over again in 2003
with a new husband and step dad, Mateo and a new baby,
TyeRiver. We moved to the suburbs of Fort Worth, and I no longer
have a farm, but I have all those experiences and memories I have
been able to apply to my art work.
My future plans include more children’s design in
clothing and furniture and to grow here locally once again to
display my work in galleries, shows, and antique boutiques.
I
would thoroughly enjoy getting to work with you on new original
designs for your child.
