My life long gaming addiction evolved into minis... I used to say I wouldn't buy painted minis until I saw some that were no longer toy soliders but rather pieces of art. I primarily bid on ebay to acquire minis painted to competition levels and other collectable gaming items that aren't available in the local stores.
