HOW TO FIND STAMPS

Gandalf's Stamp Shop has worldwide stamps and postal history for sale. The store categories are broad. To look for a country, topic, or area not listed in the store category titles, type what you are looking for into the store search box. If you enjoy colonies, type "French" , "Portugal", etc. to find these listings. China is a specialty and there will always be many eccelectic and interesting items from PRC, Imperial, Republic, Treaty Ports, Liberated Areas (by area), Taiwan and the Provinces (by Province-Yunnan, Kihei, Manchuria, Manchucko, Sinkiang, etc.). Occupations are also listed (Germany, US, Russia, etc).  If you enjoy a particular type of stamp, please type "Airmail" , "Dues", "Peace Commerce", etc into the search box in the store.  Postal History will always have "Cover" in the title. You may also search by topic and/or by year. Finally, If you like first issues, type in "first" or if you enjoy collections, try "Collection", "Group", or Accumualtion" The Store Search Box is your ticket to adventure!

NEW ITEMS

 I try to list 200 new items each week in the store, depending on how much time my family and my work take up (I am a medical practitioner) .

 LOCATION

I live in Germany. I have both a German and a US (APO) address as I work for the US Military.

PAYMENT

 I accept Paypal, Checks from US banks, Money orders (US or german), and SWIFT (IBAN) bank transfer within europe (email for details).

 RETURNS

I accept returns up to 90 days after sending. The customer is king. I guarantee your satisfaction.

Conventions

All listings are similar in format.

The title will begin with the country, then the year, then a short description including key words, then a three or four letter abbreviation for condition as follows:

MNH- Mint Non Hinged

MLH-Mint Light Hinged (There is a slight mark where a hinge was once placed.)

Mint-This means that the stamp either has original gum and a large hinge mark, original gum with a hinge remainder or no gum. If it is issued without gum, it will be noted and if it is PR China whether there is a hinge mark.

 

A word on Cancelled to Order.....

Most countries have asked the post office to cancel stamps and sell them unused but with this cancel on them. In the case of PR China, CTO will be noted as MNH, MLH, Mint, or No Gum (in which case whether a hinge was used will be noted). Other countries that are sold with CTO will not be noted as hinged or not.
