I am a stay at home mom and really enjoy designing and sewing, especially little girl’s dresses. I am a self-taught designer and seamstress. I always love learning something new. I learned designing and sewing from reading fashion and sewing books, magazines, articles, and joining message boards specifically for designing and sewing. I love fashion magazines and thanks to modern technology, I am also able to see a lot of fashion shows through the Internet, which helps me to know of what is in fashion and what is outdated.
I get my design inspirations from a lot of stuff, from music, movies, people, my favorite designers, etc.
Dior, Valentino, Versace, Oscar de la Renta, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, are just some of my favorite designers. I love how modern and sophisticated Versace's garments are. And Oscar de la Renta's are so chic and French and couture, and who doesn't love the gorgeous and romantic pieces by Valentino?
Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, and Jackie ‘O are just some of the people that inspire me a lot too. They just had amazing taste of fashion. Their clothing were so chic, couture, and timeless. Sometimes when I design something, I ask my self, if those women were little girls, what would they wear?
Also, everytime I watch 40’s, 50',s and early 60's movies, I always find my self staring at the garments the movie stars wore and trying to figure out how to make the patterns and sew them. I always admire how elegant, glamorous, and perfectly tailored those garments were.
My garments and design elements are simpler, cleaner lines and modern. I adore minimalism, to me less is more. I use a lot of high end runway / couture fabrics and adult silhouettes, but I always try to keep my designs fun, playful, and not too grown up for the little ones. I always enjoy designing and sewing each and every garment, and I pay a lot of attention to every details to ensure my clients receive superior quality garments. To me, client’s satisfaction is my number one priority. I am very looking forward to working with you.
Announcement:
I just closed down George Gabrielle Couture Website because I want to limit my sewing to only several orders this year. All sales are now done privately in my blog and ebay auctions.
All of the patterns for my garments are made from scratch by me.
