I was about six years old the first time I secretly made off with a needle and thread from my mothers little sewing basket. We couldn't afford doll clothes, but I found an old torn sheet, a pair of scissors and starting cutting. In about an hour my old doll had a rather primitive, yet entirely usable new dress! It was a real light bulb moment when I realized that using a needle and thread to attach two pieces of fabric... , well, the possibilities were endless! I eventually became a costumer, using antique velvets and laces to make Rennaissance Faire costumes in L.A.
My passions still revolve around my love of antiques - textiles in particular, and my other job, which is social worker/care provider. I work with many hospice patients and the elderly. It is a privelege to do so.
