We are a small but dedicated team made up of two music nerds and an aspiring music nerd. We came together because we despised our day jobs and we wanted to give better customer service than the horrible service we were enduring. We wanted to create a business we actually enjoyed running and offer a product that makes the world a better place Music!

The name Gratescape was chosen because that is what music truly represents to us. We are based in Hollywood, California and when we are not watching live music or listening to a variety of different records ranging from Billy Strange to Alice Cooper we are cluttering up our minds with music facts that most other people have no use for. We own up to the fact that we know the small details about who was on what label, when, where it was recorded and what drug the musicians were on when they recorded it.

We are honest and reliable. What you see is what you really are going to get. We take the time to take the pictures of all the items we list. They are not air brushed or manipulated in any way, nor do we use stock photos. What you see is what you get.

We are the real deal and we are prepared to offer you great deals. We are prepared to answer all your questions and if we do not know the answer, unlike some other music snobs we admit truthfully when we don know the answer rather than giving a false answer to make it look like we know everything.

The beauty in dealing with records is we get to listen to music constantly and it is a continuous education for us and we get to listen to jazz, punk, heavy metal, ska, reggae, easy listening, classical, big band, bluegrass, honky tonk, country, alternative, indie, soundtracks ~ you name it and we expand our knowledge in all those areas as well as discovering new artists we enjoy on a daily basis. Along with taking real photos of the items we also try to describe them as best we can.
