About Me. This store is family-owned and run by Dr. Brenda Biermann, Ph.D, botany and plant pathology, 1982. This is my fourth and most fun career, the other three being research plant scientist, high school biology teacher, and enrolled agent tax preparer. I use the extra income for the college expenses of my two daughters. Sorry, fellows, I am happily married, 24 years now. My sister, e-bay ID gloriaguides, helped get me started in this, and please check out her awesome book auctions, especially if you live in Canada. I have about 100,000 books in my home right now. They are being sorted on the dining room table. Books for sale are in the spare bedroom. The shipping center is in my bedroom. New arrivals sit in boxes in the front hallway. Books to write up are in the study, etc. Please help me get my home back by buying my books!
About the store: Children's Book Adventures specializes in new books at reasonable prices, in lots sorted by author, series, or content, or separately. My new books are purchased wholesale, and have never been used. I also sell some used books which are described so. I usually carry Stephen Cosgrove Serendipity, Norman Bridwell Clifford the Big Red Dog, Kid Concoctions, Tonka, Bob the Builder, Newbery award fiction, Caldecott award picture books, science, history, art, biography, American Girl, Dear America, early readers, phonics readers, picture books, Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite, Emily Rodda Dragons of Deltora, Judy Blume, classics, Animorphs series, Drawing & How-to-Draw, Thoroughbred, Spanish editons, Baby Einstein, Sandra Boynton, Miss Spider David Kirk, board books, Eoin Colfer Artemis Fowl, Patricia Polacco, Jon Scieszka, The Wiggles, Here Come the Brownies (Girl Scouts), Bobbsey Twins, African American, and much more.
About my customers: I have awesome customers, including parents, grandparents, libraries, teachers, homeschoolers, small bookstores, and charity donors. Thank you if you are one of them. If not, I hope our selection, prices, and customer service will win you over to become one.
Shipping, Returns, and Other Details.
Nonsmoking books and home: My books, home, and people in it are all completely nonsmoking, 100%, 24/7, and you'll not receive nasty smoke-smelling books ever. I do have pets.
Returns: If the items are not as described, I will give a full refund including return postage, or a partial refund with the items kept (You must contact me first before returning items!). If the item is as described but you are unhappy with it because you made a mistake in selection, I will try to help you if you e-mail me.
If you have a problem with a transaction: I'm pretty careful and things rarely go wrong, but stuff can happen to anyone. Believe me, if there was a mistake, it wasn't deliberate. Polite non-threatening e-mails :) are always appreciated and I will do the same for you. I will get back to you quickly with a proposed solution and will work hard to fix the problem. If you tell me what you would like to happen, that will help!
Shipping: I have shipped all of the last ten thousand packages within 1 to 2 business days, and will continue to do so. I use media mail to keep your shipping costs down. It usually takes 3-7 business days continental US, but occasionally can take 2-3 weeks to the West coast (not often, thank goodness, but please be prepared if this is you). Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and APO/AFO addresses take 3-5 weeks in transit. If you want to know if I mailed your item yet, please click the 'Order Details' link in the completed auction, and then the blue postal tracking number link that appears to find the most current information. I use paypal delivery confirmation whenever it is possible, and you will be sent an e-mail from Paypal on the day your box is mailed. I use boxes, add packing material to cushion, use filament tape on large boxes, and put the books in plastic bags in case the postman leaves your parcels out in the rain, so there is no need to send me instructions on how to pack books.
Combined shipping: Yes!!! Find details on special page of store.
Nonpaying Bidders: We all know what happens to them! If you've changed your mind, an exchange for other store merchandise of equal value is possible - please inquire.
