Founded in 1988, H.E.A.R. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of hearing loss and tinnitus among musicians and music fans through education and grassroots advocacy.
With support from the music industry, medical industry, foundations and individual donors, H.E.A.R. is helping to raise awareness of the real dangers of repeated exposure to excessive noise levels from music.
The H.E.A.R. Partners program is a national network of hearing professionals and music industry professionals who support H.E.A.R.’s mission.
H.E.A.R. delivers information on hearing damage; provides hearing services and referrals; distributes hearing protection at music events, schools, music camps; launches national public service hearing loss prevention campaigns and Listen Smart DVD hearing education programs.
In addition to distributing information, H.E.A.R. conducts free hearing screening clinics in the San Francisco Bay Area and provides a HEAR Partners Audiolgist refferral network on www.hearnet.com.
In 1989, Kathy Peck received The National Leadership Award from The National Council on Hearing loss and Other Communicative Disorders, Washington, DC.

H.E.A.R. clinic makes affordable custom musicians earplugs and custom molds for in ear stage monitors.
H.E.A.R. conducts Listen Smart:Hearing Education Programs at schools in the US.
H.E.A.R. conducts Hearing Awareness Outreach Programs at music conferences, music events, music camps and distributes earplugs and hearing info.
