Howard Nowes, principal of Howard Nowes Ancient Art, has moved
into the street level gallery space on the Upper East Side, Art
for Eternity. It is a leading New York brick-and-mortar gallery
specializing in Classical Antiquities, Pre-Columbian art &
Tribal Art. We are pleased to celebrate our 19th year dealing
in these areas and pride ourselves on superb connoisseurship,
communication and customer satisfaction.
More specifically, our specialties are; Ancient Greek, Roman,
Egyptian and Western Asiatic Art, Pre Columbian art from Meso
America, authentic Tribal Art of Africa, the Pacific, Asia and
South East Asian Art.

Advice in Collecting Ancient Art:
The best way to form a collection is to shop around and educate
yourself on the quality and pricing of artifacts before buying.
Buy as high a quality object as you can afford, take into account
the extent of the restoration, make sure that the item has been
legally acquired and deal with reputable dealers!
Please contact me, whether you are a seasoned collector or just
have some things that look old and you are not sure of the culture
or the authenticity. As a member of the Ebay community, I am
especially willing to open a dialog from collectors with specific
wish lists; remember, this is my business and if I don't have
it in my inventory, I probably can find it! I will take the time
to chat with you on the phone or look at your photos. I am a
professional appraiser but I will give my opinion and estimates
verbally, free of charge. Please contact me before sending Jpegs
if you are unsure of how to keep the transfer time short.
