Well this page was updated is on 10/22/07:
I have two main collections as I am a bizarre person :)
Number one! A world class pachinko machine collection. Check out the pachinko's in my store for more details about the game. A truly unique game, and cultural japanese tradition and treasure! Pachinko for somebody who knows nothing about the game is almost a cross between a slot machine and a pinball machine, though its a poor analogy. You play with balls, and the aim is to win more balls. Balls are launched upwards into a playfield filled with win pockets, LCD screens, lights, and other mechanical gadges. Some machines are purely mechanical engineering toy marvels(the older machines)!! Newer machines are technological wonders pushing electronics to the limit with mechanical animation and LCD vido slot screens which can trigger multiple round jackpot sessions in which you can win buckets of balls. The best style machines are "Hanemono" or "Wing Type" machines in which the goal is several steps. The machines have a central jackpot area that is closed off. Inside lays mechanical gadgets and moving parts, themed to the machine. At the bottom of the playfied always are a 1, 2, 1 holes. Get a ball inside one of the lower pockets and you are rewarded with prize balls, lights, sound, and for a brief second the central area will have "flipper" or "wings" that open up. Should a ball fall inside when these wings pulse open once or twice, it wall enter... and should it roll and bounce its way in the V for Victory slot you win up to 15 actions packed ball winning rounds of a jackpot sequence.
As I stated I have a precious collection of Hanemono's machines starting from the late 80's up to current machines. I have some mechanicals and Deji-Pachi machines such as that beast of a machie Sankyo - Julie Fever which I enjoy playing for variety... but the best machines are Hanemono for fun and theme!
Looking to buy a few machines? Need advice? Need help, consultation or repairs? Interested in some machines for your rec room? Look no further, other sellers tell you "it works" when you risk getting junk, as I have experienced this myself. Even if you don't buy anything from me, contact me and I will be glad to help you with any questions or pachinko issues you are experiencing!
The next best thing to collect are rocks, minerals, crystals, and gemstones! I am working on a mega collection from faceted Ametyhst and Chrome Diopside to 15lb Ze0lite plates of Apophyllite, Stilbite, and Chalcedony! Also collectiong museum quality crystal specimens of rhodochrosite, mimetite, vanadinite, aquamarine, etc. You may say a rock is a rock, but I can prove you wrong, wait to you see a brilliant blue cluster of cavansites on druzy heulandite! Simply breathtaking. My favorite thing to collect recently are large specimens of indian Zeolites especially Green Apophyllite (or Flourapophyllite). True collector's specimens are coveted and sell for high prices. The best specimens have an unparelled emerald green (or Tsavorite green) and are transparrent and gemmy! Better left uncut as they form flowers of tetragonally pointed crystals. Simply breathtaking. You might be saying Zeolites? Yes Zeolites, so many varieties, and they are so brilliant and curious. Quartz is nice, but get a huge plate of apophyllite with stilbites wedged in and it sparkles like you can't imagine. And nothing cooler than any crystals house on black druzy chalcedony... So if you see me bidding on Zeolites step aside and make room for more additions to my collection. Before you know it those mines in India may run out as some are not producing anymore... and then you'll see their popularity skyrocket! Don't say I didn't warn you!
Still play dreamblade buy haven't gone to any major tournaments as I have been busy with work...but before:
I love dreamblade! Check out the article on the WOTC Dreamblade main page about my armies at the 50k World Championships and all the custome repaints and modification we did... Also I finished 4rth overall out of the 20,000 $$ World Release Tournament at GENCON 06. (Finishing 4/436 first day and 4/top 8 in the single elimination finals). Then I got 3rd at the Chicago, October 10,000 $$ tournament. (1st overall, and 3/top 8 in single elimanation finals - Now Ben Stoll can have the title "Should Go to Vegas" because he had a nice, critical strikeback of 17 on 8 dice which hurt bad!!!) But kudos to Ben who is a true strategic player and congrats as he won the 50K World Championships! Hello taxes!
If you used to play DDM or SWM, throw that crap out and prepare for the ultimate strategic battle! If the strategy is just too hot, then just leave the kitchen! If you see me bidding on Dreamblade, step aside, or just take a lesson on which minis are good to have! Although you can never have enough minis! Dreamblade really is a killer game and if you have not tried it, put aside your objections to collectible games, and give it a playtest. You may be surprised! Unfortunately, WOTC has officially "canned" the game and now its only available on the secondary market, though there are rumors of its return. Too many poor marketing debaucles, high stakes tournaments scared away "casual" players leaving the game no too successful, but if your interested in something unique, try it on me, come to our game store and I will give you a free army!
Otherwise during my spare time....
DJ Diddy here spinnin' the hottest High NRG, Trance, and Hardstyle. I have mixed over 20 cd's. Need 80 minute mixes, give me a holler!
For all of those old customers that were ebayin' with me back in the 90's you will see my ME page has changed. I'm done with beanies and MTG cards. (They are finally gone, I am free from the curse!) (Though the ebay name is an ever present reminder "Humphrey" the beanie + "Bogarden" the MTG card.)
Still collect N - Scale Trains, though they have been in storage for a while...
Unfortunately good weather is leaving us!!!!!:
Lastly, I am a 10 year Disc Golf veteran. A previous member of the PDGA, (currently rated 917, just a chucker). I had a great collection of old CE Candy/Taffy plastic. Those CE FX birds sure are hot biscuits off the griddle! Stable like a PIG, a pure oinker! I had to part with 99 percent of my collection to pay some bills but... I still stash some old SOFTIE 86 biscuits I know the collectors would be drooling for! Find me on the coarse for a skins game in the Chicago, IL area. We play all year round, from Heat Stroke summer to Tundra Golf in the winter! Bring your gab and your game! Looking for a doubles match, send me an email!
Now all I need is some kinda server to put all my pachinko machines and crystal pictures on!!!! Hopefully coming soon!
