Save Me The Aisle Seat!
Many years ago, when I was growing up, the only way to watch movies at home was on broadcast television. We were at the mercy of programmers who had no respect for the films or the performers.
It was my dream at that time to be able to watch any of my favorite movies any time I wanted to. No edits, no commercials, and no hosts promoting contests.
And now my dream has come true. With the advent of VHS and especially DVD, I can be my own movie programmer. I can watch movies that I love anytime I want to see them. I can watch movies in any order I please. No commercials and no edits.

ALLISON, FRANCES, AND CARROLL
My three favorite actresses are Allison Hayes, Frances Farmer, and Carroll Baker.
Allison's best known role is the title one in 1958's "Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman." She did however have more than the obvious talents attributed to her. Allison was a concert pianist and was the Washington D.C. entry in the 1949 Miss America Pageant. She did many movies at Universal-International and Columbia, where she was under contract. Allison also appeared on many television shows. I have written an internet biography of her that is linked below.
Frances Farmer was a actress in the 1930's who also appeared on Broadway with the Group Theatre. Her most famous films include "Come and Get It" and "Son of Fury." She also hosted a television film program in Indianapolis from 1958-1964 entitled "Frances Farmer Presents." I saw her many times. Her life story was "told" in the film "Frances" with Jessica Lange, but the film was not accurate in many, many details. Below is a link to the most informative Frances Farmer site on the internet.
Carroll Baker starred in many films of the 1950's and 1960's and continues to work today. Among my favorites of her performances are "The Carpetbaggers", "Harlow", "But Not For Me", and "Giant." Her role as the mean mother in "Kindergarten Cop" is a delight to behold. Below is a link to her official site.
I have met many "fellow travelers" here at EBAY and on the internet. They include Michael Barnum, Jeffrey Kauffman, Patrick Agan, Rod Williams, and Bruce Kimmel.
A movie collectible makes a perfect gift!
