I decided to sell on ebay for a few reasons, mostly because I am rather tired of working 60-80 hour work weeks for someone else. I write poetry, have a book out, but poetry is a difficult challenge to make a living with. Not impossible, just rare. I spent 13 years in a food testing laboratory as a driver, customer service manager, courier manager, sales rep, and director of customer relations. I have spent the last five years managing electronic returns centers.
3 years ago, one friend, my brother and myself decided we wanted to start a corporation, so we did. Did all the necessary paperwork, spent a ton of money, and did absolutely nothing with it. Three guys without a clue, no plan, no direction. We lost a lot of money, but that experience defined for me, that if I wanted to create a better life for my family, I had to be the one to do it.
I've spent two years basically trying to figure out something to do. I used to collect coins, baseball cards, movies and allsorts of off the wall objects, plus I love to read. One of the guys I work with has an ebay business, so I said why not sell my old stuff, buy some new stuff and try my hand at this? At this time, I am just learning how to buy and sell products. I've been had a couple of times, but it is part of the learning process. I am looking forward to building a business that will eventually get me away from my day job, create a better future for my family, and hopefully establishing relationships with other like minded individuals. I have a lot to learn, and somewhere down the line I hope, I have alot to teach someone else. |
