Jeff is the President & CEO of ConsumerNet, Inc., which runs several consumer advocate web sites, such as CarBuyingTips.com. Here's the story from the beginning. Well, let's see, first the earth cooled, then the dinosaurs came, then some large meteor or something like that slammed into Mexico, causing the ice age which killed off the dinosaurs. After that, Jeff's great, great, great, great, great grandfather dragged his jell-like body out of the ocean and pitched camp on land, becoming the first man. Fast forward to the 20th century, in June, 1981, where Jeff Ostroff graduated high school from Boyd Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes, FL.
Jeff Ostroff, a self proclaimed consumer advocate, also has been an electrical engineer since 1987. As a senior design engineer at Motorola iDEN Subscriber Group, from 1994 to present he works on the designs of million-selling radios capable of cellular calls, 2-way radio service, paging, and web browsing, which are marketed to Nextel, ClearNet, Southern Company, and others. Prior to Motorola, Jeff was an engineer at video conferencing startup Ascom U.S. Tech in Boca Raton, Fl. Jeff has co-written articles for Bottom Line Personal (9/1/99 and 12/1/99). Favorable articles about CarBuyingTips.com have appeared in NY Times (10/10/2001), LA Times (5/15/2000), USA Today (Hot Site 9/29/99), Miami Herald, Sun-Sentinel, Toronto Morning Star, Los Altos Town Crier, and TheWhiz.com. In January 2000, InStyle Weddings Magazine listed Jeff's other site BridalTips.com as est Site For Wedding Advice Jeff has also been interviewed on several occasions during live TV and radio news shows.
