I was born with hypogammaglobulinemia, which is a primary immune deficiency of the main antibody defense against bacteria. I hope to raise some awareness of PIDD and I'm a volunteer for the Immune Deficiency Foundation (www.primaryimmune.org). Treatment of my immune deficiency involves antibody replacement therapy which is made possible by plasma donors. Early diagnosis & treatment of primary immune deficiency is essential to prevent recurring infections from doing permanent damage or causing death, yet few people have any awareness of PIDD at all.
