Mix the modern with the traditional
The tabletop, like a home doesn't not have to follow any one style. A traditional table can have an added twist by adding a touch of contemporary. For the following table scape I use my modern square dishes, along with silverware, which was my Moms is a Wallace pattern, from 1933. The Italian glasses were given to me by my Aunt. All of this was set on top of a vintage floral embroidered tablecloth.
Decorating Tips for the bedroom
Today's bedroom is more than a spot to sleep. Today's bedroom can also be a place to watch TV.V., read, exercise, to daydream, or to just get away from it all. When you are decorating a bedroom for yourself, or someone else, the first consideration should be , what can be done to make this the most comfortable room in the house, and at the same time the interests, and styled of the owner of the room.
One of the first thing to do is to list priorities. The master suite is usually shared by two people. Take into consideration the needs of both. Decide what the space needs. A king size bed is ideal, if the space allows. If its a room for a child, there should be a space for learning, reading, and dreaming. Plan, so that the room will grow with you child. If you have a spare room, it could have a duel purpose, as both a guest room, and,a hobby, or office room.
I am often asked, if a certain size linen will fit a particular bed, so I am including a chart with the most common mattress sizes:
