Greetings! from my studio in the garden. I live in West Seattle, WA and my studio sits in the middle of my other passion, an acre of beautiful perennial gardens that I've created for all my real and not so real creatures. I have been creating both clay and soft sculptures of animals for over 20 years. MY love is soft sculpture. I've found, with practice, I can use my clay sculptures to design patterns for my soft sculpture animals. With the soft sculptures I can create the individual animal's realistic details. I think all animals are beautiful and mysterious. That is what I want to capture in my creations. The eyes are very important. I think they give an animal a "soul". I create an eye socket to set the eyes into and hand color, both, the eyes and fur for realism. I hope you enjoy these. They are a labor of love.
