We began Kokopelli Traders in 1995 because of
our appreciation for Native American jewelry.
Several times a year we travel to the Four Corners
area of the United States to purchase jewelry which
we hand select. If you enjoy the rich history,
customs, beliefs and traditions that have been
handed down through the generations, we believe that
you will appreciate our jewelry which has been
created by skilled Navajo craftsmen.
As with all legends handed down from generation to
generation, there exists an array of tales about
Kokopelli. The legendary Kokopelli was a hump-backed
flute player of rock-art origin. He served the
Navajo, Hopi, Zuni and other Indian cultures as a
symbol of courtship, fertility and peaceful trade.
His likeness was etched on the walls of caves and
other areas where people exchanged messages or
otherwise expressed themselves. That was several
hundred years ago, some dating back as early as the
third century.
Today Kokopelli still represents a positive life
force. His message can be anything that brings you
happiness. Keeping his likeness near you and those
you love can create harmony and centering in an
otherwise frustrating world.
Kokopelli brings abundance to those he meets.
Wearing Kokopelli jewelry conveys best wishes for a
joyful life. This is what we wish our customers.
Best wishes to you for a joyful life.
