ABOUT RMC&S
For as far
back as I can remember, I have been mesmerized by the beauty & weight of
coins struck from precious metals.I remember vividly, the first time that
I formed a passion for coins. One day. when I
was a young child, my family was visiting a friend's home and
he invited me in and sat me down in his library and it was then that I
heard for the first time the ancient history of gold. Then it
happened, he placed a large stack of St. Gauden
Double Eagles into my hands, I was captivated.
As a child, every once in
awhile, I would run across a childhood friends personal collection handed down
them from a wise parent or grandparent who caught the passion of coin
collecting and I would imagine how nice it would be if some day, I could amass
a collection myself to hand down to my children & to my children
children.
Like many others, I invested
early on in traditional opportunities like Real Estate, Stocks and Bonds, IRAs,
401k Plans, CDs, & so on.Eventually
though, I found myself once again captured by the beauty of the American Eagles
& other country coinages, but ultimately, it was U. S. mintages that I
begin purchasing whenever I had some extra cash available.I would acquire ungraded
$50 Gold Eagles and put them away in safety deposit boxes for a rainy day.Well that rainy day came upon the arrival of
the first of our 2 children when I then realized, partially from concern, how
expensive college and weddings would be in the years to come.So as more cash became available to me, I
continued to purchase $5, $10, $25, & $50 ungraded
Gold Eagles.
Fast-forwarding, a few years
ago, the precious metals Bull Market came and so did the growth of coin
collecting.More and more people for
several reasons from the pleasure of coin collecting to the weakening of the
U.S. dollar moved into Gold, Silver, Platinum, & Palladium all the while,
building their investment portfolios in the process.During this same time, the United States Mint
and television shopping shows have in my mind, catapulted coin collecting and
of course, the popularity of slabbed and graded
modern coins.
When I finally realized how
much ungraded gold and platinum that I had put away,
it became apparent to me that grading these coins elevated them from bullion to
collectibles based on their grades and mintages. Thus, RMC&S was born.
Well, I still am buying
coins to pass on to my children & my grandchildren, but now in a much
larger scale and subsequently, have become a coin dealer of sorts.
Our focus now is to purchase
large volumes of niche areas predominantly 1986 to present Gold, Silver, &
Platinum coins and new designs from the U. S. Mint as introduced, grading some
and leaving others in their raw state with their mint packing.Some of these we will put away, others will
be sold to the public either here on ebay, on our
upcoming website, to other dealers, or through catalogs.
We really enjoy doing this
and integrity is paramount to our business.
