Magicalrealist Gallery

I started Magicalrealist Gallery on eBay in 2003 to sell my art. "Magicalrealist" is a translation of the literary term "lo real maravelloso", which I think perfectly captures the style and intent of my art. I've always had an awareness of the world of spirit, as my Native American father taught me. In addition to sunprints, I sell my writing, videography, crafts, hand dyeing, and a constantly shifting mountain of really bizarre stuff.

I live in Green Valley, Nevada, which is in the Mojave Desert. Both my sunprinting art activities and my fabric dyeing crafts have a zero water footprint because I recycle all my wastewater into my landscaping.

I am the world's most prominent contemporary sunprint artist. A sunprint is a contact photograph. In the 1800s, sunprinting was a precursor to silver process photography, and was the origin of the word "blueprint". The first in my new line of instructional videos, How to Make a Sunprint, will be released in November 2009.
