My store "The Gatherings Antique Vintage" has grown out of a love of antique & vintage textiles slowly evolving from a few treasured doilies to varied interest in many avenues of textiles.
I have always been fascinated with children's clothing from the early 1800's through the 1930's and early 1940's. Along with the clothing I have always included children's playthings from each time periods as their little clothes & toys just seem to go together.
In the 1990's I was a member of highly successful country shop taking my love of cloth several steps further and learning it doesn't have to be perfect to be well loved. I soon appreciated the mends, fades & a "little ragged around the edge look" that so many country folks find endearing and eager to add to their collections.
Still, I find I am a little more of a perfectionist. I seem to seek out those unused pieces still in the original box. From handmade ribbon art pieces to table linens to baby clothes never worn or used.
You will find my offerings a "gatherings" of early textiles, children's clothing and their related playthings. Adult clothing from the Civil War through 1930's including accessories. Bed & table linens, quilts, quilt blocks & fabrics. Sewing items & notions (of which I fancy). Laces, trims & ribbons. All things both plain & fancy.

Our sweet little pal was a Christmas gift one year delivered in a basket with a big red bow! It was love at first sight! And the first dog we have ever had!!!
