I started collecting Switzerland as a youngster, when my mother's Swiss pen-pal sent annual Charity sets each Christmas. During the typical non-collecting hiatus between my teenage years and adulthood, I managed to squeeze in Viet Nam as an intelligence analyst, a college education ( a BSc in History of Art), and working for 10 years as a medical photographer and graphic designer. For over 20 years I was self-employed in the wooden interior shutter business, and after moving to Hawaii also worked for 10 years as a Middle School substitute teacher in the local school district. I am now retired and living in Port Townsend, Washington.
I raced sail boats for 25 years including a couple down the California Coast in a 24ft Ultra-light Moore 24 from San Francisco to Santa Barbara.
I skippered that 276 miles race in 48 hours.
My collecting was rejuvenated when eBay arrived on the internet, allowing me to purchase Swiss items from all over the world, from 38 countries so far.
