Biobits I was born in the south of France, in Provence - some time before Peter Mayle wrote his now-famous accounts of Mediterranean life. My husband and I chose international careers, and lived many years in Canada, East and West Africa, and Mexico. Over the years we moved from the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia to central New England and then to the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast. We still travel together worldwide whenever we get a chance. Recent journeys include the Dominican Republic, Montreal, Mexico City, Nepal, the Middle East and hiking through Big Bend National Park in Texas. Each year we rent a guesthouse in a different part of France and drive to the surrounding sites and villages. This year we went to northwestern Burgundy near the vast forests of the Morvan Park, and drove to the medieval villages and gothic churches that abound in the region. When Hurricane Katrina ripped through the Gulf of Mexico, its powerful center focused on a collision course with my little community of Diamondhead, MS. The outlook for us here on the Gulf Coast was very bleak. I can't tell you how much your good wishes and prayers have meant to me in the ensuing days. Although I am back up and running, we are again being assaulted, this time by the BP oil gusher. I only hope the oil doesn't reach our beautiful shoreline. I am not very optimistic about the eventual outcome, but will continue to offer you the same top quality jewelry and responsive service as always.
