Thank you for your interest in my artwork and wellcome in my Gallery. I offer original art works - paintings, drawings and mixed media I created after long training and years not spent at school but in studio.
About My Art
My name is Michal Splho. I presently live and work in Bratislava, Slovakia as a freelancing graphic designer and visual artist.
Over time my art has evolved to include many different styles and modes of working, dealing mostly with figures, people and stillifes. Although I have worked in many mediums, I lately work mostly with pen and ink and watercolors. Looking back I see the experiments, regular training in classical techniques of painting, new discoveries and never satisfied soul with results I keep till today.
Unfortunately, today I cannot spend all of my time in the studio painting large paintings I dream about, but I have new possibilities - like drawing illustrations for magazine, designing bookcovers for publishers or even designing booklets, catalogues etc.
I had learned a lot about history and the ways of art and one of my passions is writing a blog in my native language and one - with iregular posts - in english for the world readers.
After two decades of active work I have found that with each painting my personal style and visual language becomes more focused and distinct.
I believe that art can give life to a space and that art as a visual language is accessible to everyone. And most of all, the art is here to make people happy.
