Home of the Mini-Pro Acrylic Hoop
We have been making mini basketball hoops since 1996. In 2005 we introduced our newest model - the Mini-Pro II. You can find it for sale in our eBay Store - JustinTymeSports.
The primary idea for this business came from my oldest son, Justin, when he was just 9 years old (he is now a senior in college). He loves sports and he went through a bunch of the cheap plastic hoops that were available at the time. After another one of his backboards broke, he noticed a piece of plexi-glass that I had in the basement. He asked if I would mount his plastic rim to the plexi-glass. He had a group of friends spend the night and they played on that hoop for hours. His friends liked it so much that we began talking about making more...that is how JustinTymeSports was born.
We soon had a design for a metal rim and we began making these hoops and selling them locally at various craft shows and trade shows. I loved being able to interact with the customers. When a kid that loves basketball walks up to your booth - you know it! It's in their blood. They will tell you stories of all the contraptions they made in order to shoot hoops in their basement, bedroom, or garage. "I used a clothes hanger...", "I used a storage crate...", etc. These kids drool when they see our hoop...because it's what they would have done if they had the means to do it right. Kids love to play indoor mini hoops because they can replay all of their favorite moments of the past or dream of their own highlight moments in the future.
Our other son, Jeremy was too young in the beginning to help with making the hoops and nets, but he always had fun showing off at the shows. Over the past couple years he started to learn a lot about computers and soon was developing web pages for himself and his teachers at school. When we decided to put our business on the Internet, he couldn't wait. You can see his work at www.justintymesports.com. As he was putting the finishing touches on our shopping cart, I decided to investigate ebay - I have to say, this is the next best thing to being face to face with our customers. Your questions and your feedback have been great.
From the beginning, we wanted the business to be about the kids. We wanted them to learn about business, manufacturing, and managing their own money (It's amazing how a nine year old will "settle" for a $50 pair of shoes when he is spending his own money).
For JustinTymeSports, our goal has always been to produce a high quality mini basketball hoop at a reasonable price. We stand behind our products - you have our name on it.
