Mitchell & Ness (est. 1904) is the oldest sporting goods company in Philadelphia. Under licensing agreements with MLB, the NBA, the NFL and the NHL, Mitchell & Ness has developed a line of authentic vintage jerseys ("throwbacks"), hats and other sports clothing and accessories. We are focused on detailed reproductions of Baseball, Basketball, Football and Hockey items that match the originals as closely as possible and make you feel as though the garments might have been worn "on-field". Recently, our jerseys have gained widespread popularity in the worlds of professional sports and entertainment. We have numerous celebrity clients, including P-Diddy, Fabolous, Freeway, DMC, Jon BonJovi and Spike Lee. Why was my item removed from auction on eBay?
If M&N requested to have eBay remove your auction, it is because we have reliable information which leads us to conclude that the item you were listing infringes upon the Company's intellectual property rights. Among the possible infringements might be: the goods offered for sale are counterfeit or otherwise unlicensed; your references to Mitchell & Ness, M&N or other aspects of our trade identity imply that you are offering authentic Mitchell & Ness products when you are not.
What if I believe that my item removed from auction was, in fact, authentic?
If you believe that your item is authentic and we had it mistakenly it removed from auction, you may send digital images of the item, along with a valid receipt from Mitchell & Ness or one of our authorized retailers verifying your purchase of the item in question to ebay1@mitchellandness.com or ebay2@mitchellandness.com. Please be sure to include your contact information (eBay seller ID, name, address, phone number, email address) along with the auction number in question in your request. Only when we have all of this information in hand can we review listing and, if appropriate, notify eBay to have the VeRO listing violation removed from your account.
Why does Mitchell & Ness care that my items are infringing, if I am only selling one or two items? I'm just "small potatoes" on eBay.

When can I use "Mitchell & Ness" or a similar term in my listing?
If you are actually selling an authentic Mitchell & Ness product, then you may use the name Mitchell & Ness, M&N, or similar in your auction title and description only to denote the original source of the goods and not to imply any authorization by or affiliation with Mitchell & Ness. The manufacturing, importation, distribution, offering for sale and sale of counterfeit merchandise is illegal and is subject to civil and criminal penalties. Mitchell & Ness actively works with the professional sports leagues, federal and local law enforcement authorities, its own attorneys and others to protect its intellectual property rights against violation.
