Hi There!!!!

... and Welcome to my "ME" page!

 Many, many, many years ago (almost 4 decades) there was a young Midwestern girl who decided that she wanted to have a career in computers.  Now this was a pretty gutsy dream in the 1960's......

1. First.....She was a girl!  And girls were secretaries or clerks or Mommies (remember Donna Reed, June Cleaver & Harriet Nelson) or Flower Children.
2. Computers?????  You mean those BIG, Scary, Complicated things that only Geeks & Nerds knew anything about???   PCs really didn't exist for the average consumer & the consumer had all sorts of issues with technology & change.
3. BUT.....She had vision (or maybe in the 60's it was really ViSiOnS....LOL!) She took some night classes & got hired as a Keypunch Operator.  Remember those computer cards?  No, No, NO......not the metal & plastic ones........the PAPER ones with holes in them. 
4. After about 5 years of being a technically glorified secretary she lobbied (actually begged) the Computer Room Manager to give her a chance at pushing the actual buttons.  And he did.....Thank you so much for that opportunity!!!! (R U impressed?)
5. She didn't know which button to push first, but she knew that she wanted to push a bunch of 'em.  And push buttons she did.....no experience, no knowledge of the lingo, no idea of how what went in got to be what came out .... AND...  SHE WAS A GIRL ... on a male dominated career path.  What was she thinking?!?!?!?!
6. Anyways....she worked hard and did good and eventually became one of the best-of-the-best computer operators (impressed now?) .  She set out for Arizona to seek her fortunes and a new job.  Enter Personal Computers......Oh My!!!!!
7. Jobs came and jobs went....not so stable out there as the great Midwest was.  More education, more jobs, more life experiences, 2 kids, 2 husbands & finally a move back to Chicago......

H-O-M-E!!!!

In 2002, I found myself unemployed again and pretty much the 50-year old female with aging education & not exactly willing to work for minimum wage anymore.

SO-oo-o-oo-o-oo-o-ooo.....in 2003 .... I took some money and put together an internet cafe with the 3 things I love most....Computers, Coffee & Bargains!!!!!  Thank you Ebay and all the fantastic sellers I met here!!  You were all very kind and encouraging!!

In 2006.....I was looking toward opening a second cafe and had opened a store here at Ebay also. (If U aren't impressed by now.....it's just not going to happen!)

Now in 2007.....Due to a great personal loss in Summer 2006 I guess I will not be opening a 2nd cafe...I have also closed the physical store. I will be concentrating on redesigning the website & of course Ebay. Life moves on & hopefully these two pursuits will both keep me busy & be profitable.

Policies

1. Pledge: I will try to describe all items as best I can. I don't use any "canned" photos & hope I present each item so you will get a good idea of what it looks like. Any questions or comments about any item...PLEASE email me...I will appreciate your input.
2. Payment: Most items are listed as PayPal required. If you don't have a PayPal account or would like to send a money order or cashier's check...please email me. Payments are expected within 3 days of purchase. If item is not paid for or arrangements for delay have not been made ---> item will be relisted & appropriate action(s) will be taken as well as appropriate feedback left.
3. Shipping: Your package will be mailed out within 24 hours upon receipt of payment. Weekend transactions...I try to ship ASAP. Any items won on Saturday or Sunday or a holiday will be packed & shipped on Monday or the first business day following the holiday. I use the USPS for almost everything...they are working 6 days a week which means I can ship almost every day. Insurance is optional on most items that I'm pretty sure can't be damaged or destroyed, and required for more costly items. You might notice that your package will come Priority Mail even though you only paid for Parcel Post. In most cases the upgrade only costs 10-25 cents....and I think the Post Office pays a little more attention to Priority packages. I think it is well worth the extra dime or quarter....don't you?
4. Item Condition Info: If an item is described as new...this means it has never been used. It may have been taken out of the box to facilitate a better picture & then repacked in the original packaging. I try to write the descriptions as best I can...including researching for details. Most items are stored at my cafe' either on the main floor or in an attached storage area. Smoking & incense have always been allowed here. If you feel you will have an issue with either of these conditions ...PLEASE DO NOT BID. If you would like to purchase an item & are concerned...please email me & I will make every effort to have the possibly offensive item(s) either laundered (my expense) or cleaned (your expense) before sending it/them to you. If you would have me perform either of these services...then the item shall be considered as new/cleaned/laundered. There will be a slight delay in shipping (approx. 1-2 days) to allow for these services.
5. Best Offers: If you submit an offer on an item please include a message or contact me by email before bidding to address any issues or concerns...including shipping costs I may not have listed. I am happy to work with you in any way I can. If you submit an offer & I accept your offer...then the sale is final. If you don’t opt for insurance or do not make any contact before making the offer...I cannot replace or refund an item purchased at a discount.
6. Returns: Item must be returned within: 7 Days. Refund will be given as: Credit. If at any time there is an issue with an item either in my description or delivery --- Please email me. I will use all resources available to me to resolve any problems. If an item was one of a quantity -- I will be happy to replace the defective item upon its return. INSURANCE is optional on most items that I'm pretty sure can't be damaged or destroyed, and required for more costly items. INSURANCE is the Buyer's responsibility & highly recommended.
7. Feedback: I know there are a lot of Sellers out there who wait to see what kinds of feedback the Buyer gives them before they put any feedback in. I DON'T THINK THAT IS FAIR!!! If a Buyer pays quickly & communicates pleasantly there is no reason to hold off on giving them their feedback. I try to enter feedback as soon as I have the package(s) ready to ship.
