Welcome to My Dolly and Me, located in Sunny Queensland, Australia
We, at my_dolly_and_me , have been in business designing and manufacturing clothes for childrens dolls, for 12 years. We produce a range of Dolls Outfits that are children friendly -- durable, attractive bright colours and simple to put on, even for the youngest child.
We also sell a wide range of wooden toys, both traditional and modern in design, to educate and amuse every child.
May of our products are handcrafted, hand finished and undergo stringent quality checks. We pride ourselves on the quality and durability of our products.
We recognise that children, especially very small ones, who have not yet learned to judge what is safe and what is dangerous, often put toys into their mouths, so we ensure, to the best of our abilities, the materials used to manufacture and finish the toys we offer are non-toxic and designed to reduce any risk of choking hazard.
Toys, Dolls and play in general are an important part of the process of learning about the world and growing up. The young use toys and play to discover their identity, help their bodies grow strong, learn cause and effect, explore relationships, and practice skills they will need as adults.
Adults use toys and play to form and strengthen social bonds, teach, remember and reinforce lessons from their youth, discover their identity, exercise their minds and bodies, explore relationships, practice skills, and decorate their living spaces.
Toys are more than simple amusement, they and the ways that they are used profoundly influence many aspects of life, like play itself, toys serve multiple purposes in humans. They provide entertainment while fulfilling an educational role. Toys enhance cognitive behavior and stimulate creativity. They aid in the development of physical and mental skills which are necessary in later life. Toys positively impact the physical development, cognitive development, emotional development, and social development of children.
Toys for infants often make use of distinctive sounds, bright colors, and unique textures. Through play with toys infants begin to recognize shapes and colors. Repetition reinforces memory.
While educational toys for school age children of often contain a puzzle, problem-solving technique, or mathematical proposition. Often toys designed for older audiences, such as teenagers or adults demonstrate advanced concepts.
Certain toys, such as dolls and toy soldiers, are often perceived as being more acceptable for one gender than the other. It has been noted by researchers that, "Children as young as 18 months display sex-stereotyped toy choices".
Learn how to play?
Friends, sports, music lessons, homework - the list goes on and on. Children today have quite a full schedule.
Every single activity is important – but when do children have an opportunity to really play? When can they let their imagination run wild? When do they delve into their own play world?
Playing, though sometimes overlooked, is especially important in a child’s development.
What is often dismissed by parents as daydreaming or playing around is really a child learning. Children develop social skills by playing – skills they use their entire life. Whether it is in kindergarten, preschool or later in life – appropriate social conduct is a general requirement. At the same time, by playing they learn to understand the situations that they are confronted with.
The next step forward from basic playing is role playing which enables children to learn to communicate, to put themselves in other people’s positions and to take responsibility.
At the same time, it stimulates a child’s imagination. On one hand, television heroes are particularly popular role-playing figures, but on the other hand children also enjoy playing with dolls. The more true to life the functions of the doll, the more realistic the role playing.
Teaching and learning are not mysteries that can only happen in school. They also happen when parents and children do simple things together. All children have two wonderful resources for learning - imagination and curiosity. As a parent, you can awaken your children to the joy of learning by encouraging their imagination and curiosity.
This simple "playing around" supplies an ongoing stimulus to the healthy development of the child’s imagination and creativity on the path to adulthood. |
