Welcome To
My Dolly Dearest

My name is Sidney Jeffrey and I've been in business for over 25 years, selling dolls, bears, and accessories from antique to modern, specializing in vintage Barbie, Madame Alexander, Chatty Cathy, and Mary Hoyer. I also deal in designer handbags and shoes, crystal, pottery, china, children's toys, books, and much more.

You will find my dolls in some of the most popular reference and price guides. One of my Mary Hoyer Gigi dolls was featured on the cover of the Blue Book by Jan Foulke as well as some vintage Barbies from my personal collection. I also have dolls from my personal collection in "Madame Alexander, An American Legend by Lia Sargent, "Ideal Dolls" by Judith Izen, Patricia Smith's books, Patsy Moyer's books, and many others.

I collect mint, rare, all original and then sell the rest. My interests include Mary Hoyer Gigi, Jill, Ginny, Betsy McCall, Madame Alexander, and many others. I also collect antique dolls, favoring bald headed babies.

NEGATIVE FEEDBACK

I have been selling on eBay since it's inception. eBay has been a integral source for adding to my collection dolls that I normally would not have access to. It has also been a large part of my business, where I can offer dolls, bears, and accessories for sale.

In the course of buying and selling on eBay, you will come across some people who, no matter what you do, won't be happy. Some will be vindictive and try to hurt your reputation as well as your business. Retaliation feedback is one of the biggest problems when dealing with people here on eBay. When I left negative feedback for them, they retaliated, making it sound like I was in the wrong. But I guess that's just the nature of the beast and you try to rise above it. I've had people leave me negative feedback who never even paid for their purchases.

I've had some of my bids cancelled because of some of the feedbacks I've received. Considering the fact that I have over 6600 good feedbacks and a 100% rating, it seems people seem to dwell on the 24 negatives that I have received over the past 13 years, mainly from sellers. When checking feedback on sellers as well as buyers, you only get a small glimpse of what really happened in the transaction, and it's usually only one-sided.

Now eBay has instituted a new policy concerning buyers and sellers. Sellers can no longer leave negative or neutral feedback for a buyer. This creates a giant problem for there is no consequences for not paying for an item. As an example, in 23 years I've had 8 people not pay. In the past two years since this new policy was put in force, I've had 187 people not pay. I think my point is made here. I feel positive/negative feedback should be restored to the seller so that other sellers can see the buyers record for paying for purchases.

I've created a "negative feedback explanation page" to explain the "other side of the story" as far as the reasons for getting them. For some reason, eBay seems to want to squelch anyone telling their side of the story, saying that it's "personal information" and not allowed.

If you would like more information on the reasons for my negative feedback, please feel free to contact me through eBay.
